Your Team:
Inge Bacon, CPA, CFP(R) Accountant, Owner
Karin Noland Tax Preparer (Inge's Sister)
Sara Bacon, CPA Accountant (Inge's Daughter-in-Law)
April Jodarski Accountant
John Bacon, CPA Accountant, Office Manager (Inge's Son)
Inge's career in public accounting began in 1970, when she started working for her father, a licensed public accountant, while attending the University of Cincinnati. After graduating with a BA in Mathematics, her father took Inge on as a partner in his firm and that is where she stayed until 1979. It was a great job, and she loved working with her dad, but in 1979 Inge decided to move on---she had spent all of her summers in Door County when she was a kid and she longed to settle down there. So she threw all her belongings in her Chevy short-bed truck, bought a house in Sturgeon Bay---sight unseen---and moved up. That year, what is now Bacon CPA LLC was born.
Starting out with only 3 clients and a calculator, Inge grew her business into one of the largest public accounting firms in the county, with 12 employees serving almost 200 businesses and 500 individuals. During that time, she became interested in trusts and estate planning, which led her to earn her Certified Financial Planner designation from the College of Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado.
By 2001, her firm was grossing over $600K and she was busy! It was also when she was approached by the managing partner of Kerber, Rose & Associates to become a shareholder in the organization, which had numerous offices throughout northeast Wisconsin. Three years later, she joined Baylake Bank (now Nicolet National Bank) as Vice President of Private Banking and then became a Senior Trust Officer---which was more suited to her interests---in 2005. At that time, Inge earned her CTFA designation from Cannon Trust School at Pepperdine University in California.
It was hard to stay away from private practice, however. Five years later, in 2010---while still working at Baylake Bank---she decided to re-open Bacon CPA LLC, providing tax planning, accounting and small business services to a select clientele alongside her sister, Karin. At the end of August, 2012, she returned to private practice full time. As business grew, her son, John, and daughter-in-law, Sara, joined the firm, earning their CPA licenses in 2018. And everyone still gets along!
In fact, we all love it. We find this work very rewarding, and we strive to make it rewarding for all of our clients as well!
Interested in becoming a client? We'd love to meet you!
Our Process:
Here's how our client acceptance and on-boarding process works:
First: fill out our prospective client questionnaire, below. We'll review it to see if we are able to accommodate your needs and if there is any additional information that we need prior to meeting in order to make the best use of our time together.
Second: we'll send you a link to schedule an initial meeting with us. Just pick the time-slot that works best for you and we'll greet you here at our office at the chosen time! There is no charge or obligation for this initial meeting. We'll just use the opportunity to get to know each other, confirm the services that you'd like us to provide, clarify expectations, and make sure that we're a good fit. (You'll want to use our meeting to ensure that we meet your own expectations as well! )
Third: if we both decide to move forward, we'll send you a service agreement confirming the services that you'd like us to perform and---once it is signed---you'll have a team of honest, loyal, and hard-working professionals ready to assist you!
Please Note:
Our office doesn't have a reception area---and we don't employ a receptionist. Because of this, and the private nature of the work we perform for clients, we are unable to accommodate walk-ins. (Meetings, drop-offs and pick-ups are by appointment only.) Because we're such a small firm---and we already work with a lot of great people---we simply can't accept everyone who wishes to become a client. Instead, we have to determine if we are the best firm to serve a prospective client's needs and whether or not we are able to take on the additional work being requested. We are best-suited to working with tech-savvy, by-the-book, well-organized, responsive and responsible clients who have small businesses, rentals, or trusts and can benefit from the tax planning services that we provide. We are also well-suited to working with small-to-medium-size condominium associations. We do not accept prospective clients who have failed to file prior year tax returns. We are not accepting tax-only clients at this time.
Finally: because of all the additional work we perform at year-end and during tax season, we cannot on-board new clients between December 1 and May 1. If you'd like to work with us during tax season, fill out our prospective client questionnaire early enough that we can review it, request documents if necessary, and schedule a time to meet with you before December. (Our calendar fills up quickly!)

Need to Schedule an In-Person Drop-off or Pick-up?
Please note, in an effort to help prevent (or at least slow) the spread of coronavirus, in-person drop-offs and pick-ups are not available to be scheduled at this time. To provide your tax documents, please upload them electronically to the secure checklist or link that you received---or mail them in. Thank you for understanding.
